The
Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (ChBE) at Illinois
Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois, founded in 1901, stems from
one of the nation’s oldest chemical engineering
departments.
Our present department includes 24 full-time
faculty members who bring in an annual average of $2 million in research
funds to support their work in an array of
ChBE- related fields. Chemical & Engineering News ranked the
department in the top 20 programs in the nation for three consecutive years
(1996 to1999) based on federal support for research.
